Can I actually afford a home?

Your approval amount and your comfortable payment are not the same.

Getting approved for a certain amount doesn’t mean you should spend that much.

A lender looks at your income, debts, credit, and other factors to determine what you can qualify for. But your real budget should also consider what monthly payment feels comfortable for your lifestyle.

That means looking beyond just the mortgage and factoring in property taxes, insurance, HOA dues if applicable, maintenance, and your other monthly expenses.

The goal isn’t to buy the most expensive home you can qualify for. It’s to find a price range that lets you comfortably own the home and still enjoy your life.
