Should I renovate before selling?

Some improvements create leverage, while others waste money.

Not every renovation will give you a good return.

Some improvements can make your home more appealing, help it show better, and attract stronger offers. Others may cost more than they add in value.

The right approach depends on your home, your budget, the condition of competing listings, and what buyers in your market are actually looking for.

Before spending money, I like to identify which updates are worth doing, which can be handled more simply, and which are better left alone. The goal is to spend strategically, not renovate just for the sake of renovating.
